Katie Stagliano brought home a cabbage plant and grew a 40 pound cabbage, which went on to feed hundreds in a soup kitchen near her home. She then continued the idea of community gardens for the sole purpose of donation to food pantries, soup kitchens, and other areas around her home. Katie's Krops have now grown to gardens throughout the US while focusing on sustainable and organic farming. Kids can make a difference! During this summer reading program, we'll learn about Katie and try our hand at some gardening to take home as well!
