The Columbus Junction Public Library participates in the State of Iowa Interlibrary Loan program. When a patron is looking for a specific item that we do not have in our collection, we will search the interlibrary loan site and order the item from another participating Library. We do not charge for this service. Books are checked out for a 4 week period. If the borrowed item is not picked up within 7 days after we notify the individual, we will return the item.

We are pleased to be able to offer this service to our patrons as this supplements our collection and we are always pleased to send out a books to another Library from our collection.

The State Library of Iowa has also partnered with the AEA Delivery Service to deliver materials between libraries for no cost. Due to this system, and weekly deliveries for libraries, materials are taking some additional time to arrive, up to 3-4 weeks. Please let library staff know if you have a timeline for your materials, as then we will try to identify other ways to get items here more quickly!
