Friends of CJPL
The Friends of the Columbus Junction Public Library is a not for profit organization, dedicated to enhancing the library's holdings and services to the community as well as assisting the library in achieving strategic plan goals and overall mission. The Friends provide financial support for Library programs, materials, electronics, and any other identified needs as well as volunteering to execute specific programs and activities. The goal of the Friends is to expand library resources and to promote the Columbus Junction Public Library throughout the community.
Current Board members Lana Todd, Stella Best, Vicky Dohrmann, Heather Janssen, and Mandy Grimm. Meetings are held on the last Monday of the month at 5:30 pm in the library's conference room. Anyone interested is invited to attend! Follow the Friends of the Columbus Junction Public Library on Facebook for meeting reminders and current needs.
The Friends completes an annual Friends drive each October, with other fundraisers throughout the year. All funds raised support programs and services at the library.
Last year (2025), the Friends supported so many programs, including the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, summer reading, 250th celebrations, book club, author visits, collaborations with other entities, like the Iowa Children's Museum, and more!
